Updated: Jun 8, 2021

Sylvia is a UK knitwear designer and teacher who loves bold patterns and striking colours. She is a prolific knitter, using her African heritage as well as her Scottish upbringing for inspiration in her knitting.

After being a runner up in the UK Channel 4 TV programme, Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas Jumper in 2018, Sylvia was inspired to begin designing her own patterns.

She especially enjoys knitting and designing garments and has patterns published in Knit Now (UK), Pompom Quarterly, Laine Magazine, By Hand publication,Taproot and other publications.

Her most recognisable pattern to date is the Nubian Queen sweater and the Village Life cardigan. A qualified teacher, Sylvia uses her skills in teaching Intarsia colourwork workshops and other knitting techniques.

Sylvia will be designing a knit pattern for Yarn + Stitch magazine if our Kickstarter campaign is successful.
